28 March - 3 April 2022

Registration

is now open.

The online registration will include accommodation options, transport options and additional activity options. In setting the registration fee we have tried to stay in alignment with the 2014 and 2018 festival fees.

Registration Fees

  • Full Registration (per paddler and supporter) NZ$580

  • EarlyBird (per paddler) for the first 25 full teams (minimum 22, maximum 26) that register as EarlyBird NZ$500

  • For both of the above NZ$230 per person is payable on registration with the balance payable by 31st May 2021 NZ time.

  • Registration fees can be paid by bank transfers and in NZ$ only.

  • If you are lucky enough to be an EarlyBird recipient the reduced balance payable at 31st May 2021 NZ time will be advised in advance.

  • The team registration must include your drummer and steer/helm/sweep.

  • Each team will have its own unique identifier number, which will be provided to you at the time of registration.

  • Each IBCPC team that is currently a registered member of IBCPC will have its own unique identifier number. If for instance your team/club has enough paddlers to send two or more teams then each of those additional teams must be registered as a member (even if only temporarily) with IBCPC to obtain that unique number. So you must tell us in advance of registration if you have another team that is going to register and they must have a different name to your team name so that we can identify them and give them a number.

  • You will not need to provide the team members names until payment of the balance of the registration fee on 31st May 2021 NZ time.

  • All we need now is the team name and the minimum number (22) required to register as a team.

  • Once you have registered, paid your deposit and we have allocated you a unique identifier then you can then go ahead and book your accommodation.

Requirements for entry

In order to participate in the 2022 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, please note the following requirements:

1. All paddlers must have had a diagnosis of breast cancer (includes steer and drummer)

2. Your team must be a member of IBCPC. Check your team is registered with IBCPC at membership@ibcpc.com

3. Each paddling participant must furnish a medical certificate with proof of diagnosis and fitness to paddle by 1st September 2021

4. Each registrant (paddlers and supporters) must submit an authorisation to use images and personal information of legal responsibility (you will find an example on our website in due course)

Composite teams:

Should your full IBCPC member team not be attending the festival then we can help you to join a composite team. We can bring together paddlers from across the globe to paddle in the one team. I have done this myself on three separate occasions while attending IBCPC festivals and I can assure you that the friendships that evolve from these composite teams are friendships for life.

On the other hand should you wish to form your own composite team then we need to know this as you will need to be acknowledged as a temporary team and given IBCPC members status. As an example lets say my team (Abreast of Life) was only sending 12 paddlers and the team from Blenheim (Simply the Breast) was also only sending 12 paddlers, then the two teams could combine to form a composite team and rename themselves say Simply Abreast Paddlers. They would then apply to IBCPC membership for a temporary membership number, which in turn would give them a unique identifier number for registration.

Please advise the organising committee if you wish to do this and we will facilitate this with the IBCPC membership director. Please note that even for composite teams the paddlers must belong to an IBCPC registered member team.
